High Accuracy HDI Pressure Sensors

Sensortechnics (Germany) HDI sensors measure absolute, differential or gage pressure in various ranges from 10 mbar up to 5 bar. The HDI series features 3 V supply versions which are ideally suitable for battery powered applications, e.g. in portable or handheld devices. HDI pressure sensors perform precision digital signal conditioning and achieve ultra high accuracies with an excellent Total Error Band ( TEB ) better than ±0.5% FSS over a temperature range of 0…+85 C.

The Corona CAD HPLC Water Detector Control Software

Waters Corporation ( USA ) and ESA Biosciences announced today the availability of the Corona CAD HPLC detector control in Waters Empower 2 Chromatography Data Software (CDS).
The new software option responds to the needs of laboratories that have standardized on Water Alliance HPLC System and the ESA Corona CAD charged-aerosol HPLC detector for analytical and preparative-scale HPLC analyses. Scientists now have single-point system management and control over the entire system including the Corona CAD detector in Empower 2 software. By raising the level of compatibility, Waters is striving to give customers the ability to achieve higher productivity and efficiency.
ESA will provide free-of-charge the Empower 2 Software driver to its existing Corona CAD customers. New customers will receive the driver set within the instrument’s start up kit.

Sensitive LCMS-2020 System Mass Spectrometer

Shmadzu (Germany) has introduced a new compact LCMS-2020 single quadrupole mass spectrometer, which features the world’s fastest scanning capabilities. Utilising patent pending ultrafast (UF) technology, the LCMS-2020 has faster measurement speed and significantly higher sensitivity than any other single quadrupole analyzer. This provides more accurate detection of trace impurities in environmental pollutants and other contaminants.
The new UFscanning technology achieves mass spectrum measurement speeds of 15,000 u/sec without sacrificing sensitivity or resolution, thus obtaining the best chromatography for the fastest LC conditions. Thermo Fisher Scientific (USA) introduce Thermo Scientific Niton XL3t Series with geometrically optimized large area drift detector (GOLDD) technology. The Niton analyzer’s groundbreaking GOLDD technology delivers improvements in light element detection, overall sensitivity and measurement times – as much as 10 times faster than conventional Si-PIN detectors, and up to three times more precise than conventional smaller, silicon drift detectors.
Thermo Fisher Scientific was able to surpass the performance of conventional Si-PIN and SDD detectors by combining the award-winning Niton XL3t 50kV,2-watt X-ray tube, closely optimized geometry and patented signal processing hardware and software. When combined with the company’s proprietary large area drift detector, it creates GOLDD technology, delivering superior performance in the form of faster analysis and lower detection limits. The 7693A Automated Liquid Sampler (ALS)

The 7693A ALS is a completely new design, offering substantial gains in throughput, flexibility, sample preparation automation and serviceability for all current Agilent (Asia) benchtop GC models. The new ALS is modular, letting user configure the exact autosampler they need – starting from basic injector with a 16-sample turret, and later adding capabilities as needs expand. Options include a second injection tower, a 150-vial sample tray and a vial heater/mixer/barcode reader for long unattended operation.

Agilent’s exclusive fast-injection technology is twice the speed of any competitive ALS. Injection time of less than 100 milliseconds minimizes samples degradation and the effects of needle discrimination. The two-injector configuration doubles sample throughput. Agilent offers an optional Heater/Mixer/Barcode reader module that can automate a number of pre-injection procedures. Double the Productivity of an ICP-OSE or ICP-MS

The Niagara II Plus Rapid Rinse Accessory by Glass Expansion (Australia) doubles the productivity of an ICP-OSE or ICP-MS instrument. The combination of a switching valve and flow injection technology accompanied by a fast positive displacement pump eliminates most of the overhead typically required for accurate analysis. Glass expansion developed a low sweep volume switching valve specifically for this accessory. The valve is designed for long life by using a rigid rotor with replaceable seals for each outlet.

An additional benefit of the Niagara II Plus is the extension of lifetime for all ICP consumables, including the torch, nebulizer and cones. Although a peristaltic pump is used to rinse the sample lines between samples, the sample itself never comes into contact with the pump eliminating potential contamination issues.

The LCC is a PDA-like device that enables scientists to monitor the status of ACQUITY UPLC System, check operating parameters or to configure system settings without having to do so from a PC or network client. Remote Monitoring in Hazardous Areas via GPRS

R.STAHL's (Germany) 9719-type GSM/GPRS modem, which combines a robust design with state-of-the-art technology and easy installation, allows users to fully benefit from the advantages of GSM/GPRS data communication in zone 1 or 2 hazardous areas for the first time. Designed as a quad-band device, the 9719 modem is suitable for use in process plants in virtually all world regions.

Thanks to IP67 protection, the unit can be installed in outdoor areas without an additional enclosure. The SIM card holder and the antenna interface are instrinsically safe (Ex i), thus enabling users to safely change SIM card or install antennas in hazardous areas. The modem is directly connected to a PLC, an industrial PC or an OpenHMI via an RS232 interface. Next Generation Capillary Electrophoresis System Featuring 10x Superior Sensitivity

Agilent Technologies (Asia) introduced its next generation Agilent 7100 Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) System, providing at least 10 times more sensitivity than any other commercial CE instrument.

"We consider electrophoresis to be one of our core technologies and are seeing strong interest in CE in a number of areas, such as new biological drug QA/QC, environmental analysis, food safety and life sciences," said Nitin Sood, General Manager of Agilent's Electrophoresis business. " Used in stand alone mode, as the separations component of a CE/MS or as a complementary, orthogonal technology to LC, Agilent's new 7100 CE system brings unprecedented HPLC-like sensitivity to a wide range of analytical challenges."

CE is also attracting attention because the technique uses very small amounts of solvent. The new 7100 system also requires 25 percent less bench space, weighs 30 percent less than its predecessor and uses less power. The superior sensitivity is a result of a new detector used in combination with proprietary extended light path capillaries or a high-sensitivity cell. The Agilent 7100 is 10-20 times more sensitive than other CE instruments.

Waters Corporation ( USA ) and ESA Biosciences announced today the availability of the Corona CAD HPLC detector control in Waters Empower 2 Chromatography Data Software (CDS).
The new software option responds to the needs of laboratories that have standardized on Water Alliance HPLC System and the ESA Corona CAD charged-aerosol HPLC detector for analytical and preparative-scale HPLC analyses. Scientists now have single-point system management and control over the entire system including the Corona CAD detector in Empower 2 software. By raising the level of compatibility, Waters is striving to give customers the ability to achieve higher productivity and efficiency.
ESA will provide free-of-charge the Empower 2 Software driver to its existing Corona CAD customers. New customers will receive the driver set within the instrument’s start up kit.

The Niton analyzer’s groundbreaking GOLDD technology delivers improvements in light element detection, overall sensitivity and measurement times – as much as 10 times faster than conventional Si-PIN detectors, and up to three times more precise than conventional smaller, silicon drift detectors.
Thermo Fisher Scientific was able to surpass the performance of conventional Si-PIN and SDD detectors by combining the award-winning Niton XL3t 50kV,2-watt X-ray tube, closely optimized geometry and patented signal processing hardware and software. Double the Productivity of an ICP-OSE or ICP-MS

The Niagara II Plus Rapid Rinse Accessory by Glass Expansion (Australia) doubles the productivity of an ICP-OSE or ICP-MS instrument. The combination of a switching valve and flow injection technology accompanied by a fast positive displacement pump eliminates most of the overhead typically required for accurate analysis. Glass expansion developed a low sweep volume switching valve specifically for this accessory. The valve is designed for long life by using a rigid rotor with replaceable seals for each outlet.

An additional benefit of the Niagara II Plus is the extension of lifetime for all ICP consumables, including the torch, nebulizer and cones. Although a peristaltic pump is used to rinse the sample lines between samples, the sample itself never comes into contact with the pump eliminating potential contamination issues.

Next Generation Capillary Electrophoresis System Featuring 10x Superior Sensitivity

Agilent Technologies (Asia) introduced its next generation Agilent 7100 Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) System, providing at least 10 times more sensitivity than any other commercial CE instrument.

"We consider electrophoresis to be one of our core technologies and are seeing strong interest in CE in a number of areas, such as new biological drug QA/QC, environmental analysis, food safety and life sciences," said Nitin Sood, General Manager of Agilent's Electrophoresis business. " Used in stand alone mode, as the separations component of a CE/MS or as a complementary, orthogonal technology to LC, Agilent's new 7100 CE system brings unprecedented HPLC-like sensitivity to a wide range of analytical challenges."

CE is also attracting attention because the technique uses very small amounts of solvent. The new 7100 system also requires 25 percent less bench space, weighs 30 percent less than its predecessor and uses less power. The superior sensitivity is a result of a new detector used in combination with proprietary extended light path capillaries or a high-sensitivity cell. The Agilent 7100 is 10-20 times more sensitive than other CE instruments.
